Dear TE photographer,
The Immaginario Scientifico Science Centre is working on a project that needs your collaboration. The Immaginario Scientifico is a science museum based in the Miramare Campus (inside of one of the buildings of the International Centre for Theoretical Physics http://www.ictp.trieste.it), near Trieste, Italy. The science museum, in addition to offering an interactive hands-on area also features a multimedia section called ELIS, where temporary exhibitions are periodically set up and open to the public free of charge.

In this section, science pictures (still or animated) and short explanatory texts are retro-projected on 9 maxi screens to create an environment that helps visitors experience science through an emotional audio-visual experience. The project we are inviting you to take part in envisions a virtual trip around the world through TE photos. We have divided the globe into 24 "sharp" time zones of 15' degrees and chosen an average number of 20 pictures per zone (with some problems in the 165'-180'W), trying to cover four wide categories that we want to display in the four groups of maxi-screens of ELIS (namely: landscape, people, cities and detail). The "trip" will last about 15 minutes showing how things change according to the longitude. The photos will be displayed on the maxi screens with the name of the region (or the town) where they were taken. Some hypertexts on the desktop of the entrance (and also distributed inside the exhibition) will give the visitor the possibility to interactively browse the images and read the title of the picture together with the author's name (which will of course also come out in the credits of the exhibition).
In addition to your authorisation to use your photo(s), if possible we would need higher resolution files of the picture(s), so that visitors may enjoy a better vision of your photos. The exhibition is scheduled to last 3 months (open at the end of July through September, but the timing can change a bit). The average attendance for the IS temporary exhibitions is 8000 visitors. We hope to have you as a collaborator of this project, which is aimed at highlighting the role played by travel photography in sharing knowledge about the world.
