Thanks, I thought they say "Let's" + be, but just "let" with other verbs.
IELTS is like a TOEFL exam, both written and oral.

I did IELTS 18 months ago. Got 7 at writing, speaking, listening and 9 at reading. Listening was the most difficult for me. Good luck!

Yes, listening and speaking will probably ask the largest effort from me too.

Do you undersand the word "squoze"?
Do you understand what was the original spelling of the names Trisha and Marsha?
Can you read Joyce?
Don't worry. They all cannot, those who pass this exam.
When I applied to Brown, there was, instead of TOEFL, a certain Mr Ryan, Head of the Language Lab. He had a very nice conversation with me, told me my English was European (sintaxwise), and then asked me if I understand the phrases which I heard then as "teencoffy" and "tearcoffy". I did not. Now it is difficult to imagine I could not identify "tee'n'coffee" (tee and coffee) and "tee'r'coffee" (tee or coffee). Nevertheless, he wrote that my English was quite sufficient for a graduate student, and that was it.

No, I don't, and neither does Multitran.
That about the spelling? In Russian, you mean?
I hardly can read Joyce in russian :-) (but I can read Carroll in english - is it enough?)
Funny about teencoffy and tearcoffy :-) Thank's, can be usefull.

Thanks! BTW, do you know any interesting english-spoken blog here?

Nope, sorry, unfortunately i don't, am sure though there are plenty out there. try to search LJ or probably it's even easier to search some LJ communities (or any other blog sites) in English you are interested in. can be quite helpful. Rgds and a nice weekend :)))

Sorry about that. Tea, for sure. Must be the result of writing and speaking too much in three languages, so that they become an unhealthy mixture of I don't know what anymore.

Funny, I just wrote about it :)
And I posted recently some pictures of Le Mans. But photography is just one medium of creativity - it may be music, words, or - the whole life. I have to learn the "let go" about photography. It's a sort of greed, to will "take" things at pictures. I will probably completely change my way to photograph, just to let pictures be taken but something is above me, larger as me.

From: [identity profile] greenadine.livejournal.com
